a little history:
Duo was a trade name used on 6.35 mm (.25 ACP) pistols based on the 1906 Browning design. These pistols were also marketed as Ideal, Jaga, and Singer in the period 1926-1948. The year of manufacture should be stamped under the proof mark on the left rear of the slide. Dusek also manufactured weapons components for Germany in the period 1939-1945 with the German Arms Code “aek”. The Duo and its trade name mates are occasionally seen with inscriptions applied under German supervision.
Dusek’s factory was seized by the Communists in 1948 and construction of the Duo was then continued by the Strakonice CZ factory as the CZ Model Z.
The Duo and its trade name mates were made by Frantisek Dusek of Opocno, Czechoslovakia.
These pistols were a commercial success throughout Europe and North America.
